NearbyMe Technologies (“MyPG”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information

Name, phone number, email address, date of birth, gender, and government-issued IDs (Aadhaar, PAN) for identity verification.

Usage Data

Pages visited, search queries, booking history, device information, IP address, and browser type for improving our services.

Payment Information

UPI IDs and last 4 digits of cards for payment processing. We never store full card numbers or CVVs.

Location Data

Approximate location based on IP address for showing nearby PGs. We do not track precise GPS location.

2. How We Use Your Information

Service Delivery

Processing bookings, managing payments, facilitating communication between guests and PG owners, and providing customer support.

Personalization

Showing relevant PGs based on your preferences, search history, and location.

Safety & Security

Identity verification (KYC), fraud prevention, and ensuring a safe community for all users.

Communication

Sending booking confirmations, payment receipts, rent reminders, and important service updates.

3. Data Security

Encryption

All sensitive data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit.

Access Control

Employee access to personal data is restricted on a need-to-know basis with audit logging.

Payment Security

Payment processing is PCI-DSS compliant. We use tokenization and never store full card details.

KYC Documents

Government IDs are encrypted and stored in isolated, access-controlled storage. Only verified personnel can access them.

4. Data Sharing

PG Owners

We share your name, phone, and booking details with PG owners to facilitate your stay. KYC documents are shared only after booking confirmation.

Payment Processors

We share necessary transaction details with payment gateways (Razorpay/Stripe) for processing payments.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or government regulation.

No Third-Party Sales

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Your Rights

Access

You can view all your personal data from the Profile section of the app.

Correction

You can update your personal information anytime from Profile > Edit Profile.

Deletion

You can request account deletion from Settings > Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data within 30 days.

Opt-out

You can opt out of promotional communications from Settings > Notifications. Transactional messages (bookings, payments) cannot be disabled.

6. Data Retention

Active Accounts

We retain your data as long as your account is active.

Deleted Accounts

After account deletion, personal data is purged within 30 days. Anonymized analytics data may be retained.

Legal Requirements

Financial records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law. KYC records are retained for 5 years per RBI guidelines.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use analytics cookies (anonymized) to understand usage patterns and improve our service. You can manage cookie preferences from your browser settings.
